Free Bus, MRT, LRT rides for POSB cardholders every Friday

POSB is giving away free public transport rides (train and bus) every Friday till the end of the year to their cardholders.

free-bus-train-ridesTo qualify for the free rides, cardholders will have to link their POSB Everyday Credit Cards or their PAssion POSB Debit Cards with EZ-Reload.

EZ-Reload is a facility which allows these cards to be topped up automatically.

The existing 50,000 cardholders who are already signed up with EZ-Reload will automatically get the free rides on Fridays.

Another 50,000 slots are up for grabs on a first-come-first-served basis.

I tried to apply for EZ-Reload to my POSB MasterCard Credit Card. After keying all information and at the MasterCard Authorization screen, the amount to be deducted included $0.25. I was surprised and I thought it should be waived. I called up POSB hotline and they gave different reasons including that it will be cashback. I am sceptical about this. Imagine total maximum new applicants is 50,000 and the total amount is $12500.

    Dear Chee Quan,

    I have been using ez-reload for a while and so far, they have been waiving the transaction fee.
