Singapore Property Market Outlook 2014

Yesterday, I was at an informal tea session with Steve Melhuish, CEO and co-founder of Property Guru, with a few other people. The session was organized by his PR company, The Public Relations Company.

During the session, we had a candid discussion about the business of Property Guru as well as the property market (what else do you expect us to talk about?).

Property Guru has (by far) the biggest market share among the property portals in Singapore. Not too bad for a company that started only in 2006.  I also found out that they actually conducted training for their real estate agent clients.

As for the property market outlook in 2014, no prizes for guessing where that is headed – south.

I was given a copy of their PropertyGuru Market Outlook 2014 book, which was launched as an ebook just a day earlier. The book covers a few areas:

  • Review of 2013, trends in consumer sentiment and top property picks.
  • Forecast into 2014 that includes predictions as to how macro trends will affect the property market in 2014.
  • Opinion editorials targeting first-time homebuyers, upgraders and investors.

For those who are interested in property investing, you can download the book for free here:
