LionGlobal Europe Balanced Fund

I was looking through some European funds and happened to see this LionGlobal Europe Balanced Fund.

The fund actually allocates all its assets to two Vanguard Funds – the Vanguard® European Stock Index Fund and the Vanguard® Euro
Investment Grade Bond Index Fund.

I was quite surprised to find this fund as there is really a lack of index funds in the Singapore unit trust marketplace. Most of the investors who are familiar with index funds will probably know about the Infinity series, but I think most people do not know about this LionGlobal Europe Balanced Fund.

For one thing, the name itself gives no clue to its exact nature. Perhaps the fund had started off differently but changed its investment objectives along the way.

Amazingly, the fund has been around since 1998 but the fund size is currently only a little over S$3 million. Due to the small size, expense ratio is a whopping 2.16%, which is really high for a fund that allocates all its assets to index funds.
