12/21/2012 has come and gone without the world being destroyed. And Genneva? After 10/1/ 2012 following the great ponzi raid, its ‘business’ remains dead in the water awaiting completion of BNM investigations and formal charges against its promoters. It’s all over bar the recriminations and finger pointing.
Alas, no more hibah, no free gold after 4 years for all those caught in the Genneva web. And of course, no more ‘Anon me’ and his self interested idiocy on this website.

Before Genneva got raided, Genneva was offering 3% hibah plus iPad3. This was planned by Genneva’s Philip Lim, to attract the attention of BNM, so that Genneva will be raided and assets frozen. Genneva’s senior management knew Philip Lim was the instigator. Philip Lim is actually conspiring with TGG to bring down Genneva.

I doubt there is any fallout amongst the dato’s as they had embarked into this ponzi together with Pl and wife earning close to a million MYR a month of commission. Anyway, 3 dato’s are almost sure of reserving a place in the Singapore slammer, being directors of the Sg company. Of course, the other dato’s are also facing the prospect of a stay in bamboo river but they will try to bribe their way out. Even now, there is on going “negotiations” but the fact remain :
1. Despite their pathetic efforts at justifying the huge gap between the assets and liabilities, by saying that they have remitted money to save the Sg company and that they have invested into wealth generating schemes, the records in their accounts does not show such transactions;
2. Why was it that is the last few months before the raid, when the buyback is higher than the sales, did the goldco have the take a month to deliver the gold on the pretext that BNM had instructed RHB not to sell gold to them. This actually show that they are already having liquidity problems and if BNM & the other agencies had not raided them, the goldco will default.
The Con-Sultans who were fighting tooth and nail for the goldco are abetting them in the ponzi and repeating all the goldco’s falsehoods. The Central Bank should expose all these ponzi schemes and put all the criminals bebind bars to protect the ever trusting public.

WHILE I am sympathetic to the plight of Ms Ow Bin Bing (“Expedite probe on gold buyback firm for the sake of investors”; Wednesday) and others like her who bought into the gold buyback scheme by Genneva, I hesitate to call them investors.
Investors would have done their homework, found out how the company was able to pay out the 24 per cent per annum interest (that is, how it is earning the money) and decided for themselves whether they can stomach the risk of losing their money should the company run into trouble, before investing.
It does not seem right to hold the authorities responsible and blame regulatory laxity.
The Government cannot arrest anyone who looks like a crook unless the person commits a crime.
Until the company runs into trouble, and a consumer files a complaint, the authorities should keep out.
It is almost impossible for the authorities to investigate each firm to detect traces of fraud; the principle of caveat emptor (buyer beware) must apply somewhere.
When the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) added Genneva to its Investor Alert List, it was metaphorically placing a sign by the side of the investing road, warning investors that accidents occur there frequently.
By no means should the road be closed, and another built.
If a person chooses to jaywalk to reach his destination quicker instead of taking the longer and slower but safer route via the overhead bridge, who should bear the blame if he meets with an accident?
Can the victim then claim that he did not see the sign banning jaywalking, which is what Ms Ow is more or less claiming when she insists that she was unaware that the MAS had placed Genneva on the alert list?
The MAS undertook due diligence and executed its duty properly by installing the danger sign.
As adults, we are responsible for observing the signs or ignoring them, and should accept the consequences of the choices we make.
My friends, as well as an ex-colleague, had in the past two years urged me to buy into Genneva.
I refused because my checks convinced me that I would not be investing, but gambling on a company of which I knew virtually nothing.

Like when you see dark clouds gathering and hear thunder, one would know that it is going to rain soon.But nobody can pinpoint the exact time the first rainfall would fell.

That all those who had paid fully for the gold but had yet to have the gold delivered to them to register with BNM and claim their gold, for which they had fully paid prior to the raid, from the gold seized. If the seized gold is not sufficient, BNM take the neccessary action to compel GMSB, to make up the deficit. Whatever, action is to be taken against the goldco, is a matter between the authorities and the goldco concerned. Please help to ease sufferings of the innocent customers/investors who had put in their hard earned money/savings into the scheme. Thank you.
It is hoped that the government will actively work with BNM to get this done. Please note that the consultants are only about 6,000 but the customers comes to over 60,000.
The most sensible approach but problem is there is not enough of gold to be shared. How to compel a 50K paid up capital limited company to comply.
ReplyYou can empathize with the gold buyers who did not get their gold but at this stage, the law will have to take its course. It’s beyond BNM now. In my view, ultimately the courts will decide who gets what, hopefully based on some lawful equitable formula, likely after a prolonged trial. It will be too little, too late for most. In the meantime? Really, I don’t see any ray of light for the empty handed gold buyers. They had been warned but chose to ignore BNM’s notices of fraudulent gold investment schemes advertised in the media.

That is what BNM investigation had revealed so far.
Now, does anyone knows (senior consultants, especially) HOW MUCH GOLD WAS TAKEN by BNM in the raid on 01 Oct 2012? Was this information made available by GM2 to all its consultants? If not, why not?
It is only fair now that all GM2 customers, consultants & senior consultants ASK GM2 to state on the record the amount of gold they had ‘lost’ to BNM on 01 Oct 2012.
Why the silence from GM2 management & directors? As at now, it can only be taken that BNM declaration on the seized gold (from all 4 gold co) to be approximately 142.7kg as the TRUTH – until this fact is challenged by GM2. Will GM2 lives up to its customers, consultants & seniors consultants expectation to challenge this fact by BNM? Yet to be seen 🙂
The ball now where truth are concern is no more with BNM, but with GM2 – to correct whatever statements of facts produced by BNM. Unless, they agreed with BNM (and disappoint all their customers, consultants & senior consultants).

I use the word “authorities” since every BNM update is in the name of 4 institutions. The authorities is responding with their updates and if you do not like the respond, go and stick it whereever you wish. Scolding BNM and threat of “demonstration” is going to be negative. Now, BNM is going international for illegal fund transfer. Let us see the results instead of reveling in your less than cultured approach which will get nobody anywhere.

“Please watch Genneva for one year and let it operate. So reopen Genneva. This is the best solution. Make a quarter million dependents carry on with their livihood”. Then what? Should society also let more than a quarter of a million drug addicts carry on with their habit?
Habits die hard. The trio manipulating the goldco NPW, Marcus/Sunny & William have been master of this chronology of events.
1. Grandfather goldco “parked in” scheme. Got raided 721 and still suspended;
2. Introduced the SKR scheme in Sg when they cannot even afford to pay commission;
3. After BNM issued public warnings and alert list, go canvassing politicians and conduct roadshows waving ‘support’ letters from various authorities including one with minutes signed by PM to canvass support.
Please go ask one question of the goldco : Where do they get the money to pay hibah, commission and expenses? Always, it is a business secret and they are operating on a “BLUE OCEAN” strategy.
Are you referring to Krishnamoorthy Muthaly, the self styled international journalist and investor who works as media trainer for The STAR and lives in Petaling Jaya? He’s reported to be a Genneva gold ‘investor’. That will explain the pro-Genneva slant in his writing and his use of hyperbole.

Yes that self same Krishnamoorthy Muthaly with given address at 3 lrg 11/6c, pj. The supporter club claims that there are 6,000 plus con-sultans and more than 60,000 customers, yet according to the gold goose only 280 or so are in the club. Many have jumped ship to other goldcos, but it is only a matter of time. Either they get busted or they leave their customers in the lurch. So, please beware of scams and silver tongued or is it fork tongued cons
The authorities should interview all those who are actively campaigning to save the goldco even before they have completed their investigations maligning them with “stealing” people’s gold and money. They should be made accountable for their action including abetting the offences of the goldco and their directors.

You either carry out gold trading in an unregulated environment or you get a licence under BAFIA and go into the regulated platform. ReplyDO have a little more faith. This time around, it will be much more than illegal deposit taking and money laundering charges against the Genneva directors. The authorities are looking for criminal malfeasance ; thus the asset declarations by directors and key personnel, plus international collaboration to determine hidden assets. If any company gold and monies has been ‘privatized’, that is clearly a criminal act invoking serious jail time.

So whatever the spin, it is going to be another wait as with the involvement of the AG chambers, the authorities would be lining up the charges. Update of investigations into companies suspected of conducting illegal investment schemes using gold
Following recent raids on four companies suspected of operating illegal investment schemes using gold, the enforcement agencies would like to provide the following update.
Investigations reveal that several of these companies have poor record keeping and failed to maintain accurate record of all business and financial transactions. These companies maintained different versions of financial records for different purposes. These companies have also failed to submit audited accounts with the Companies Commission of Malaysia for the last few years, as required by law. For businesses, especially those that involve large numbers of clients and monies, it is imperative to maintain accurate records of all business transactions to avoid financial mismanagement or misrepresentation of the true financial situation of the company.
Seized records have revealed that a substantial number of investors had paid but had yet to receive any delivery of gold, prior to the raids. The period of non delivery have in some cases, exceeded five months. The total amount of gold seized during the raids from all the companies is approximately 142.7 kilogram, and monies in bank accounts and cash amounting to RM101.92 million.
The enforcement agencies are aware of the plight facing affected investors and every effort is being made to determine the whereabouts of any monies and assets of the companies. A dedicated team has been established to track the movement of monies and other assets. International accounting firms have also been appointed on a full time basis to assist in the investigations. The scope of the investigation is international. In this connection, the enforcement agencies are actively collaborating with their foreign counterparts to obtain evidence in several other jurisdictions to assist in the investigations.

Effectively, we are giving BNM and the government two more weeks to resolve this matter. By then, it would be one and half months.
Meantime, from now till Friday 9 November, I recommend that our Steering Committee put their heads together to plan the next course of action for implementation on Monday 19 November onwards. I believe they are on this mailing list, so do share your ideas now what we should do from Monday 19 November onwards.
In addition, here’s what you do:
There are supposed to be 6,000 of us and only 280 are on this list. Get all your consultants under supervision and your senior consultants nationwide to join this mailing list for private discussion online here so every consultant is updated and in tune same time for next course of action.
— Text them: “For Genneva consultants only – JOIN Genneva Family at censored /group/GennevaFamily/ or censored/yhoo.it/Ry9Dmh – give your name, tel and consultant code.”
— Alternatively, go to censored/group/GennevaFamily/subs_invite and type in their email addresses.
Social media is extremely powerful. Please get the message to ALL consultants, customers, family members and friends to “Like” censored/GennevaMalaysiaSupporters
— If you have a facebook (create one if you don’t have one), post the link at your FB wall and get them to “Like” the page too.
— Click “LIKE” and SHARE articles at your FB wall everyday. We also have to educate the general public to support our cause. Who knows, when Genneva is back in operation, your FB friends could be your prospects!
— Comment, write your personal stories how this unjust BNM raid is affecting you and loved ones. Get your children to write too. You bet BNM and all politicians are watching this page like a hawk.
— Go create your posters using vanilla cardboard similar to what GV Kuching, Melaka and Batu Pahat had done and post at the GMS facebook. Show the authorities you are prepared and ready to demonstrate in front of PM or BNM building when required — this is simply to add PRESSURE. Going to the street is the last resort.
— Go read, like, share and copy paste GMS Notes at censored/GennevaMalaysiaSupporters/notes to email and forward to your friends too.
— Also help to answer questions and put people in their place at the GMS FB.
— You must comment and ADD PRESSURE, not just the same people all the time. Get your costomers to comment too. It’s all a numbers game.
On another note, you know the colourful Genneva history, the founders and management of Genneva Sdn Bhd never left the customers in a lurch back in 2009 unlike other gold companies raided back then. That is where I draw my confidence and faith in our management. So hang in there and have faith. Go PRESSURE and whack BNM and the government (for being so slow) instead — they are the culprits holding our gold and froze Genneva bank account. We were all doing fine till Fatwa Council, PPIM and BNM came out with their public caution advisory in the media, remember? Now BNM is spinning all sorts of crap in the media to justify their raid — stupid excuses such as liabilities more than assets and sustainability on the pretext of “protecting” the public.
So please lah, STOP whacking our management at the GMS facebook or anywhere else and stop asking management to “show face”, can or not? Be rest assured they are working day and night to resolve this asap. We senior consultants have heard them first hand and trust them to do the right thing. It would be foolish for the management to reveal publicly whom they have seen or done since BNM unjust raid when there are so many enemies out there including banks, unit trust companies, conventional gold traders and copy-cat TTG, etc who want to see Genneva dead.
Some consultants also flip flop — one minute whack BNM, next minute whack management and sometimes, whack both BNM and management in the same comment.
Stay focused and don’t confuse the customers and the public lurking at the GMS FB Page. Demand BNM to return our gold and unfreeze Genneva’s bank account.

1. The goldco’s spin master was positive that there will be positive news by the end of this week. Well, no news is good news;
2. The goldco mentioned that there are individuals/group of individuals who buy the gold from them and sell in the rural areas but giving lower hibah/discount and pocketing the difference. The law says that in Malaysia buying and selling gold is not an offence so why are they mentioning it?
3. There had been reports made to BNM by customers who had paid for the gold way before the raid, are not getting the gold. Can the goldco please confirm if it is true?
4. The goldco had asked its con-sultans to go and buy gold in Sg and provide support, but now it is telling all and sundry that the Sg ops is run by Singaporeans and Mal is not involved in its operation. Can it be so when they had been claiming they are international and have operations in Sg and out of the 4 directors the only Sg director is Liew Vui Kheong while the other three NPW, SY & WC are Malaysians.
With such clever lawyers and spin masters, how can they go wrong? Or is it just buying time?

I read this blog from a few pages and came across many of your posts, some credible, some incredible.
I think viewers here deserves to know your own answer to the 9 questions posed to you from Annoying Me. What I meant is your own answers, not what Annoying Me suggested for you.
I hope for your own credibility sake, pls answer them:
If Genneva is still a legal and ethical company (pending investigations and trial):
1. Why did they fail to comply with the rules and not submit the necessary statutory docs?
2. Why did they not act fast and clear their own name when they first got listed under BNM’s alert list?
3. Why did they list themselves as a trading company and yet sell their product like investment? They even call their clients investors. Shouldn’t they call them customers?
4. Why did Genneva S’pore also got raided at the same time? If BNM made a mistake or acting like bully, are you saying S’pore’s authorities are also making a mistake and bullying their citizens?
If Genneva really have a legitimate secret formula to generate such high returns:
5. Why did they not establish themselves as an investment company first?
6. Why did they not set up their company in Wall Street first? Surely they can make more money there, right?
7. Why do they need to operate like MLM and ask their customers to ‘recruit’ new customers? If their formula is so good, then they would have been famous even just by word of mouth. No need to spend more money paying incentive to the ‘consultants’. Ever heard Warren Buffet setting up a company and recruit like MLM?
8. Why operate from a shop lot in Kuchai Lama? Can’t they afford to rent an office in the Twin Towers? After all they are dealing with gold, right? A more prestigious address can only help boost the image right?
9. Why target all the aunties and uncles as clients? Should they not target the banks and financial institutions? Surely banks and financial institutions have way more capital to invest and make more money in a shorter period of time. Shouldn’t they at least have a corporate arm to sell to corporate clients? Surely companies want to make money too, right?

It has been a month long wait in agony and desperation since the raid by Bank Negara Malaysia not knowing what the future holds for us and our dependents. Today, your words of assurance to end this investigation as soon as possible gave us a glimmer of hope that our predicament will soon end with a positive outcome.
Thank you for finally acknowledging our plight and we look forward to your next course of action. We would like to express our admiration for your achievements and although we recognize the need to take measures upon suspicions of wrong doing, this cannot justify the impoverishment of over 60,000 people and their families, a direct result of the Bank Negara led raid.
Tan Sri Zeti, we are neither “depositors” nor “investors” of Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd. We are merely customers who bought gold from Genneva with our life-savings. We’d also like to leave the arguments about the validity of the company aside. Be it about ‘hibah,’ ‘deposit-taking,’ ‘AMLA.’ ‘BAFIA’ or any other acronyms that seem to permeate the financial world these days. It’s all rather tiring so we’ll let the company duke it out with your financial and legal experts.
Instead, we’d like to make this appeal as a person. One human being to another. We make this appeal:
■As single mothers whose savings base and income came from the company before the raid.
■We are also fathers, providing food and a roof over the heads of our families.

Might we remind, that it was you who said that keeping interest rates too low for too long may lead to the “mispricing of risks.” You warned against artificially low interest rates.
We are therefore surprised why it is the Central Banks policy to keep interest rates low, you knew in your heart that it would drive us to into ‘higher-yielding assets that pose(d) significant risks.’
By the way, we do not think that gold holds any ‘significant risk,’ at least not at this point of time. The risk came directly from the unjust confiscation of that gold by Bank Negara. Now many of us are without our gold and savings.
For the aged, the old and the sick, their ‘yield’ from these ‘assets’ were all they had, and your bank took it away from them. We may not have the financial intellect like you to understand what all this means.. but we can see and feel and experience.
We see that real inflation is spiralling out of control, and wonder why there never seems to be enough to last us till the end of the month.
We feel how low interest rates punish savers. For many of us, the interest after a year from fixed deposits can’t even pay for a family dinner at a nice restaurant!
We experience the hopelessness and helplessness of being crushed by debt, our incomes never rising to meet expenses or to pay off debt.
That is not all. The rakyat, not only contending with low interest rates, spiraling inflation, weak to no personal income growth or even worse, no income at all, must also face confiscation of what little wealth we have by the authorities.
Must we live in fear that the authorities, with their far reaching powers, can at any time, confiscate and take that which does not belong to them with impunity? The little that we have, our liberty, and our right to chose?
We sincerely hope you come to a decision soon and that compassion guides your motives although it may seem out of date these days. Please release the gold and money which is unjustly held by Bank Negara so that we can move on with our lives.

The goldco had a meeting with Con-sultans where the International marketing director told the eager crowd, among other matters, the following :
1. that the East Malaysia director was the exception for not having his bank account frozen;
2. that he was interviewed by 2 inexperienced BNM officials and they were distracted from their duties by his persistent distractions using personal questions to them;
3. that there will be “good news” by the end of this week as the clever Punjabi lawyer had reported positively;
4. that the authorities are bowing to the pressure of the 60,000 strong protests;
5. that even if the authorities continue with the investigations, they will be able to meet all their commitments to the con-sultans and customers independently.
Well, at least the customers can heave a sigh of relief if his words are proven true. But remember, he is the chief spinner.

I heard directors are only the stooges and behind them is/are the real mastermind(s)- the unseen hand maneuvering all the moves and movement of funds, not only within Malaysia but amongst all the countries they are operating in.
The Mastermind(s) are brilliant to think of such a scheme to skim the ” creme ” of the pool of funds into his own pocket using greedy networkers to reach deep into the masses to dig out people’s hard-earned money and willingly surrender same to them with promises of high returns. Most of the networkers gave up an honest day’s work to pursue easy money. Their commision of an over-riding percentage of 1% of overall investment a conservative sum of Rm 3,000,000,000 ( 3 billion ) nets them Rm 30,000,000 ( 30 million ).
My consultant has bought a new car and a bungalow with our money and has denied possessing my money handed to him in trust to pay for my purchase of gold, giving the excuse that BNM has taken it. Isn’t he liable to refund me my hard-earned cash or can someone suggest something ?
I can’t bear to see him strut around like a new rich showing off his his new car and house when the real innocent victims like me are suffering. I hope these people will not live long and live well to enjoy the fruits of their plunder. And they call it blue ocean strategy and people who speak out against it as jealous ! Who will buy it ? Certainly not right-thinking people, maybe except the Nigerians whose schemes so far can’t net so many and so much at a go. Just amazing that they can get away with it.
Now I heard they are starting a new company to carry on with the scheme, is it TGG ? Jail is the only way to prevent these people from harming the larger population or else they will CONTROL the whole nation of it’s finances, economy and the minds and livelihood of its people.

1. TGG’s has Dato’ K who was GMSB’s Chairman and Bumi shareholder. Hence it cannot be that TGG is working in collaboration with GMSB;
2. If you had been cheated by your consultant, please make poice reports and also report to BNM, identifying the culprit, but please be careful not to make any false report;
3. If your money had been seized or paid to GMSB and got frozen, there must be records and a paper trail;
4. GMSB, particularly their international marketing director, had been either talking cock or taking all of you to be ignoramuses. Blue ocean strategy is only applicable to innovative schemes where there is no competition. Is a goldco into a blue ocean strategy when there a couple of dozen goldcos each trying cut the others’ throats?
5. They are considering starting a new goldco under the leadership of their “princess”, but this has nothing to do with TGG.
If you are right go for justice, but please do your homework first and not get hanthamed.

1. Why did they fail to comply with the rules and not submit the necessary statutory docs?
2. Why did they not act fast and clear their own name when they first got listed under BNM’s alert list?
3. Why did they list themselves as a trading company and yet sell their product like investment? They even call their clients investors. Shouldn’t they call them customers?
4. Why did Genneva S’pore also got raided at the same time? If BNM made a mistake or acting like bully, are you saying S’pore’s authorities are also making a mistake and bullying their citizens?

One in particular, Andrew Ng (all of them have Christian names)give a list of items with higher mark up including, farm produces like kiwi fruits, cosmetics, flowers, greeting cards, designer jeans, handbags (Berkin on Rosmah shown), coffee and tea at starbuck and kopitiam, hotel mini bars, wine and champagne, diamond, cinema popcorn, bottled water, etc. If they all love “women, wine and song” what is a mark up of 25% or even more. Your platform is gold, remember, GOLD.
Go solve your problems with the existing customers first, because without solving the problems, all comes to zero , ZILCH. Be brave and come out and drive home your point instead of invading other peoples private email addresses.

Othman, 62, a former construction contractor and father of four said Genneva Malaysia’s Wealth-Sharing Platform had helped him continue to support his family, including paying for his 22-year-old son’s studies in the US, and to care for his 88-year-old mother who is bedridden in Butterworth.
“Now, nothing left with no ‘hibah’, commission and gold stuck with BNM after the raid,” said Othman, tall and thin with a head full of greying hair.
For Che Surin, what truly sold her on the Genneva idea was the public endorsement campaigns headlined by dignitaries like Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim and former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who had encouraged Malaysians to buy gold instead of putting their faith in paper money during his speech at the syariah-compliant company’s launch on December 15.
Shereen Lim estimated the company’s daily business turnover at RM2 billion, before the banking and financial institution regulator iced Genneva’s operations.
Shereen Lim contributed a pic of her with her 5kg of gold bullion estimated to be worth RM1 million at the time of purchase.

Look around you and witness the seismic shift in global affairs. You will see a perfect storm of political, demographic, and technological change that will soon make the world as we have known it for the past 50 years almost unrecognizable.
The conventional wisdom we have come to accept doesn’t seem so wise these days. In fact, almost every form of ‘convention’ of ‘accepted’ wisdom has broken down.
Looking to leaders to solve your problems is exactly what gave institutions like Central Banks and morally bankrupt political structures absolute authority over your lives. It bred dictators and despots; and stoked corruption at the highest ranks. The powerful few have come to assume absolute authority over the majority.
These things MUST change, and it will not change through the use of conventional wisdom. Stop looking for leaders, for leaders will arise when the time comes. 3) Allow the company to resume operations so that all outstanding orders and disbursements can be settled.

If Genneva is still a legal and ethical company (pending investigations and trial):
1. Why did they fail to comply with the rules and not submit the necessary statutory docs?
2. Why did they not act fast and clear their own name when they first got listed under BNM’s alert list?
3. Why did they list themselves as a trading company and yet sell their product like investment? They even call their clients investors. Shouldn’t they call them customers?
4. Why did Genneva S’pore also got raided at the same time? If BNM made a mistake or acting like bully, are you saying S’pore’s authorities are also making a mistake and bullying their citizens?
If Genneva really have a legitimate secret formula to generate such high returns:

The central bank says the liabilities of gold investment firm Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Genneva Malaysia) exceeded its assets. Early this month, BNM together with the Royal Malaysia Police, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry and the Companies Commission of Malaysia carried out joint raids on several of Genneva Malaysia’s premises as well as the residences of its directors.
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 – Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has found the liabilities of gold investment firm Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Genneva Malaysia) exceeded its assets, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
He said the situation clearly shows Genneva Malaysia was unable to pay returns to its investors.
Awang Adek, likening Genneva Malaysia’s operations to most illegal get-rich-quick schemes, said BNM’s initial investigations showed the company actually sold gold bars to attract investors, but later changed to just taking deposits.
“There was already an element of deposit taking in Genneva, and the company’s assets were so small compared to the amount invested by the people, so there was a very big gap between assets and liabilities.
“So how could it (Genneva) pay when its liabilities ran into billions of ringgit while its assets were just in the millions (of ringgit),” he said when concluding the Finance Ministry committee-level debate on the 2013 Supply Bill at the Dewan Rakyat here today.
Early this month, BNM together with the Royal Malaysia Police, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry and the Companies Commission of Malaysia carried out joint raids on several of Genneva Malaysia’s premises as well as the residences of its directors after several investors who had become victims lodged police reports.
Awang Adek said it is not possible for Bank Negara, which is considering what appropriate action to take on Genneva Malaysia, to pay back the company’s customers the value of their investments.
“At first, some got a return of two per cent a month, but this was wrong. We cannot say the investors were blameless, they invested and there were risks.
“The company was really to be blamed. Where is there a scheme that can give such good returns, if it’s too good to be true, then it’s not true,” he said. – Bernama

Some more, he open his big mouth and talk in Parliament under privilage. When I read the Bernama report, I was trying to figure out which primitive third worid country the deputy finance minister come from. It is obvious that he did not do his homework (too busy collecting contractor/developer fees lah).
Genneva sales is in the region of around RM3 billion and the goldco deliver gold amounting to 75% of the amount paid. In the event the goldco buys back at the purchase price, the customer has to return the gold and the goldco needs only to cough up 25% of the purchase price which amounts to about RM750 million, not billions. Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd had at no time been deposit taking, they still deliver the gold albeit a bit late. If this goldco is unsustainable, what is the Hon DEPUTY MINISTER OF FINANCE, doing about other goldcos operating on the same Business Model? Are they paying rent and getting protected?
Imagine, the kind of advice the Hon. DEPUTY MINISTER OF FINANCE is getting and the nonsense that he spew make us, the rakyat,sick. Ubah.

阿旺阿迪也反驳那些指国行的行动，才导致投资者血本无归的指责。他说，这家公司的投资者之所能获得回酬，那是因为那是属于其他投资者的钱。
他直批金玉华黄金买卖公司的「黄金回购计划」，其实就是一项「快速致富」计划。
他说，经过国行调查发现，这家公司所获得的投资非常高，但所拥有的资產却那么低，如果国行不插手，该公司最后牵连更广，让更多人受害。

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 – Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has found the liabilities of gold investment firm Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Genneva Malaysia) exceeded its assets, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
He said the situation clearly shows Genneva Malaysia was unable to pay returns to its investors.
Awang Adek, likening Genneva Malaysia’s operations to most illegal get-rich-quick schemes, said BNM’s initial investigations showed the company actually sold gold bars to attract investors, but later changed to just taking deposits.
“There was already an element of deposit taking in Genneva, and the company’s assets were so small compared to the amount invested by the people, so there was a very big gap between assets and liabilities.
“So how could it (Genneva) pay when its liabilities ran into billions of ringgit while its assets were just in the millions (of ringgit),” he said when concluding the Finance Ministry committee-level debate on the 2013 Supply Bill at the Dewan Rakyat here today.
Early this month, BNM together with the Royal Malaysia Police, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry and the Companies Commission of Malaysia carried out joint raids on several of Genneva Malaysia’s premises as well as the residences of its directors after several investors who had become victims lodged police reports.
Awang Adek said it is not possible for Bank Negara, which is considering what appropriate action to take on Genneva Malaysia, to pay back the company’s customers the value of their investments.
“At first, some got a return of two per cent a month, but this was wrong. We cannot say the investors were blameless, they invested and there were risks.
“The company was really to be blamed. Where is there a scheme that can give such good returns, if it’s too good to be true, then it’s not true,” he said. – Bernama

investor are the loser,not others.even the company dont lose money because the asset is low.no body goin to cover the different.

But statements from Deputy Finance Minister had already been made in Dewan Rakyat & Parliament. So, what Awang Adek statement is only his conjecture? Yes? No?

Thanks for your confirmation of your position above.
Anyway, GM2 ‘investors’ (opps.. customers) are saying they were informed by reliable sources that good news await them before the end of this week (though it had been repeated over the last 4 weeks since the 14 days dateline).
My question is this – would you advice GM2 ‘investors’ to held on to these ‘reliable sources’ (which contradicts all BNM statements to date) or should they IGNORE such sources on the ‘imminent good news’ coming their way soon. What’s your advise to these lots of people?

Good to hear your advice that all ‘promises’ from GM2 managements, senior consultants, consultants etc should be IGNORED as none can be verified and confirmed.
All GM2 victims – stop being lied to by GM2 on getting back your money & gold ‘by end of this week’ and keep you hope high to be disappointed at the end of every week, That is very cruel, and GM2 has no conscience in continue to mislead all of you.
